About

Some people read the paper, some people watch TV, some people use social media, and some people listen to radio shock jocks. The opinions they hear or read are varied, but the problem topics are all the same. In the age of “fake news” how do you decide who to believe? More importantly, how do you decide what should be done?

Well, here is some good news, news to give you hope: sometimes we can learn a little tiny bit of physics, and then we know, with certainty, what to believe about some topics, and much more importantly, what should be done.

Of course most things don’t fall into this category, but some VERY IMPORTANT ones do. Many things are controversial just because we have no understanding or very little understanding, such as economics and psychology and some things really do require deep physics or other science to decide a course of action.

This blog is about the little tiny bits of physics which relate to some of the really important issues of our age. Issues like energy and obesity which are clearly controversial, but need agreement if ever anything is to be done about them: you can use the physics you learn here to know with certainty what is right about some parts of energy policy and health policy relating to obesity.

This has been written especially for teenagers (although anyone can read it) since we should do everything we can to expose them to their inheritance, SCIENCE and particularly, the physics of hope.
